Ham hock terrine: slow cooked pork shank with fresh chopped herbs, set in its own hammy, orange-spiced, bone marrowy, jelly
Smoked mackerel pate: Cartmel Valley smoked mackerel with horseradish cream
Duck & orange pate: Higginson’s duck liver, fresh orange & Cointreau (lovely and buttery)
Pork & cranberry stuffing: our own-recipe stuffing is made with fresh and dried cranberries for sweetness, sharpness and chewiness. The delicious pork sausage meat is from Higginson’s
Sage & onion stuffing: the classic combination of breadcrumbs, our own eggs, sage, butter & onions
Vegetables: Choose from beetroot baked with caramelised onion & balsamic, carrot with orange glaze, or parsnips and honey

Fresh turkey stock: deliciously meaty stock from bone, carcass, onion, celery, carrot, and a light flavour bouquet garni (thyme, parsley)
Turkey Gravy: with a rich stock base, the gravy benefits from the additions of butter and browned flour

Chocolate tart: sweet pastry case filled with a rich dark chocolate ganache filling
Deep lemon tart: sweet pastry with a baked lemon cream filling
Savoury cheesecake: a crispy case filled with a baked sour cream & chive filling

For the festive cheeseboard, choose from our local dairies – start with the three cheeses made by cheesemaker, Chris Sandham, from our herd’s milk: Kendal Creamy, Kendal Crumbly, and Kendal Crumbly with Red Onion.
Do come and talk cheese with our farm shop staff, get suggestions, ideas and try a morsel before you buy, that’s the best way to enjoy shopping in our experience. The counter is loaded with more than 75 cheeses, so give yourself plenty of time.
Hand-pick a hamper full of farm shop loveliness
Recipients will relish delving into one of our farm shop hampers. There are 14 variations that we have put together to suit most budgets and interests.
Damsons feature strongly in The Owl hamper – in Stringers damson beer, Strawberry Bank’s damson gin, Cartmell Farm Foods damson ketchup, and Hawkshead Relish damson extra jam. While our Cumbrian gift box is for anyone whole holds the county in their heart no matter where they are in the world – bringing inimitable Cumbrian style to the recipient’s teapot, kitchen, tummy and brain.
You’re also welcome to select your own combinations from the farm shop shelves and ask us to dress them for you.

Herb Fed poultry: slowly matured meat with taste and texture
As firm believers in the part that husbandry plays in ensuring great-tasting produce, we fully endorse the ethos at the heart of Herb Fed’s poultry business.
Their poultry is traditionally farmed, hand-fed and kept in small flocks that forage for food and roam their Yorkshire pasture. A unique diet, which includes 10 varieties of fresh herbs grown by farmer Edward’s aunt, means the birds have a flavour that’s difficult to beat.
