Designed and made in England these waxed jackets are outdoor clothing with attitude. Design-wise there is more than a passing nod to an Edwardian lady’s riding coat but the lovely extended pleating on the back is just far too stylish to rest on a horse’s flank!
Quernstone is a knitting company based on the mainland of Orkney, at Stromness. We’re positively Southern here in Cumbria by comparison. Quernstone use a British silk and lambswool mix yarn in a unique range of colours. Everything is hand framed and finished by a small group of women in Orkney.
From Spanish label Indi Woman comes our shirt of the season. In gorgeous grey and white polka it was styled over a bikini for their summer catalogue. Given our climate, we think it might be more realistically teamed with slouchy linens or a classic blue jean:
