Allerdale

  • The first cheese to be produced by Thornby Moor Dairy, Thursby, Carlisle
  • Matured for at least 6 weeks, developing a natural rind
  • It is best eaten at between 3 – 4 months old
  • It has a sweet nutty flavour and a moist, crumbly texture when young. The older cheese is drier with a more complex flavour.
